Exciting Updates Coming from Laidlaw Forgeworks!
Not much has happened in the last couple of weeks that would warrant an update, and I'm still learning this whole blogging thing. Finally, though, there is something to update everyone about!
Anyone who knows us knows that we always have something new on the go and as a school, we're constantly striving to improve our craft and provide the best possible experience for our community of makers. I don't think that there has been a time frame longer than 3 months where Rusty was able to go without buying a new toy for the shop - and inadvertently our students and customers! This is, again, one of those times: we are thrilled to announce a new machine - and a new station - in the shop that will add so many options to our custom order options. These additions are here to enhance your creative projects!

4x4' CNC Plasma Table
Take your metalworking requests to the next level with our new CNC plasma table. This high-precision tool allows us to cut intricate shapes and patterns into metal with incredible accuracy. It’s perfect for everything from custom signage to detailed fabrication projects.
Leatherworking Station
We’re expanding beyond metal! Our new leatherworking station is equipped with tools for cutting, stitching, and - fingers crossed, the near future - embossing leather. Whether you’re requesting belts, sheaths, or other accessories, this station opens up endless creative possibilities.
Mike's leatherworking projects are going to be available on our Off the Lake Decor shelf very soon!
What This Means for You
This new machine and station aren’t just about making the work easier—they’re about expanding what’s possible. With these additions, we’ll be able to:
Take on more ambitious projects.
Improve precision and consistency in our work.
Save time and effort, leaving more room for creativity.
All in all, while these are exciting new toys and tools for the shop, jeez boys and their toys, the ones who really benefit are our fantastic customers who have been patient and waiting for us to be able to do more projects that require tools such as these. Slowly we are expanding our capabilities and as we are able to add more project options to our repertoire we will be letting you all know!
